چکیده

Let G be a connected graph of chromatic number k. For a k-coloring f of G, a full f -rainbow path is a path of order k in G whose vertices are all colored differently by f . We show that G has a k-coloring f such that every vertex of G lies on a full f -rainbow path, which provides a positive answer to a question posed by Lin (Simple proofs of results on paths representing all colors in proper vertexcolorings, Graphs Combin. 23 (2007) 201-203). Furthermore, we show that G has a k-coloring f such that, for every vertex u of G, some full f -rainbow path begins at u provided that G has a cycle of length k, which solves a problem posed by Bessy and Bousquet (Colorful paths for 3-chromatic graphs, arXiv 1503.00965v1) and verifies a special case of a conjecture of Akbari et al. (Colorful paths in vertex coloring of graphs, preprint). Finally, we establish some more results on the existence of optimal colorings with (directed) full rainbow paths. The presented results are joint work with Oliver Bendele (Ulm University).

Complete Bipartite Graphs with No Rainbow Paths

Motivated by questions in Ramsey theory, Thomason and Wagner described the edge colorings of complete graphs that contain no rainbow path Pt of order t. In this paper, we consider the edge colorings of complete bipartite graphs that contain no rainbow path Pt. Mathematics Subject Classification: 05C15, 05C38, 05C55

On Rainbow Cycles and Paths

In a properly edge colored graph, a subgraph using every color at most once is called rainbow. In this thesis, we study rainbow cycles and paths in proper edge colorings of complete graphs, and we prove that in every proper edge coloring of Kn, there is a rainbow path on (3/4− o(1))n vertices, improving on the previously best bound of (2n + 1)/3 from [?]. Similarly, a k-rainbow path in a proper...

Ramsey numbers in rainbow triangle free colorings

Given a graph G, we consider the problem of finding the minimum number n such that any k edge colored complete graph on n vertices contains either a three colored triangle or a monochromatic copy of the graph G. This number is found precisely for a C4 and all trees on at most 6 vertices and bounds are provided for general paths.

Long rainbow cycles in proper edge-colorings of complete graphs

We show that any properly edge-colored Kn contains a rainbow cycle with at least (4/7− o(1))n edges. This improves the lower bound of n/2− 1 proved in [1]. We consider properly edge-colored complete graphs Kn, where two edges with the same color cannot be incident to each other, so each color class is a matching. An important and well investigated special case of proper edge-colorings is a fact...

Rainbow Ramsey Theorems for Colorings Establishing Negative Partition Relations

Given a function f a subset of its domain is a rainbow subset for f if f is one to one on it. We start with an old Erdős Problem: Assume f is a coloring of the pairs of ω1 with three colors such that every subset A of ω1 of size ω1 contains a pair of each color. Does there exist a rainbow triangle ? We investigate rainbow problems and results of this style for colorings of pairs establishing ne...
